Yeti’s of
Shangril-La
Feature Film Project
The Yetis of Shangri-La weaves historical characters into a fantasy film about a Sherpa boy whose goal to climb Mt. Everest leads him to discover the lost valley of Shangri-la and its protectors, Yetis!
Tenzing Norgay (the first man to summit Mt. Everest) lives in the foothills of Mt. Everest, and dreams of reaching the summit of the mountain that towers over his home. His father is a guide for Westerners, but Tenzing fears he’ll never be more than a Yak herder. When Tenzing meets Tom Slick (an American tycoon and crypto-zoologist) on the hunt for Yetis, he sees a way to reach his goal. Unknown to Tom, Tenzing has already had a close encounter with a Yeti. The creature saved his life, and swore him to secrecy. Also on the trail of Yetis is an ex-Nazi, now working for a shadowy organization seeking the secret to immortality. Meanwhile, a team of climbers, led by Sir Edmund Hillary, are intent of reaching Everest’s summit.
Shangri-La lies in a valley high up in the Himalayas. Hidden by natural (and magical) barriers, this snow and ice wonderland exists between the spirit world and reality. Its inhabitants do not age and have constructed a fragile utopia that will melt away if discovered by the outside world. Yetis, the long sought after abominable snowmen, are actually the ancestors of an alien race and the creators of Shangri-La. The valleys spiritual leader is a mysterious figure named Baba Boom – who exists in multiple dimensions and has spent untold years protecting his utopia.
“The Yetis of Shangri-La” is a story about one man’s quest to discover a Yeti, a boy’s pursuit to climb Mt. Everest and a shadowy organization’s hunt for eternal life. Based on historical events and real-life characters, the film combines the heroic exploits of films like “Indiana Jones” with science fiction and fantasy.
