Grandma

Demon Wrangler
Feature Film Project
An introverted teenage girl comes out of her shell to capture demons she unwittingly releases on a seaside town, and learns the outrageous truth about her Grandma’s past.
The film brings modern life into a mythical tale and combines the broad, slapstick elements of Chinese films like “Journey to the West,” “Monster Hunt” and “Kung-Fu Hustle” with films like “The Wizard of Oz” and “Spirited Away.” Our heroine, Tara, reluctantly battles a gaggle of misfit demons, and a shape shifting dragon-man, and discovers her family’s secret connection to the spirit world. Visually, the film is inspired by the fantastical lanterns and mooncakes of the Chinese Full Moon festival, creating an unforgettable fantasy world
